Something we can all relate to is art. We all remember when we were 3-years-old in nursery and used the really cool felt tip pens to colour in a dinosaur. The question is, is art beneficial for us, for others or even for the world?
Materials. Materials can be made out of chemicals, wood, wool etc. which is extremely bad for the environment. For example, billions of sheets of paper have been wasted becasue artists had created pieces and just thrown them away. This is basically asking for the end of the world and our standing trees. This morning my dad came up to me and said people burn wood for art, and then I though, what if it goes wrong, then what? That wood just goes to waste. the whole tree would have been able to help on average 10 people to breathe.
Second, the expense. If I go onto any website that sells a bunch of stuff AKA amazon, I can get a average sized canvas for £12. If I go to an art store such as Hobby Craft, the canvas prices can go up to £40…MINIMUM! The difference between the two stores was popularity and…well…that’s it. I couldn’t seen to understand why these were so expensive, even thought they are the same thing! In all honesty, Hobby Craft should be selling for cheaper because they have much more range of sizes and materials which are very popular in the art world.
So the question still lies…is art beneficial for humans and they environment?
